The 60 Days Water Challenge

How to incorporate a drinking routine
into your everyday life.

39 percent of all Germans drink too little!

According to a study by the Instituts für Betriebliche Gesundheitsberatung and the Techniker Krankenkasse, 39 percent of Germans fail to drink the recommended amount of 1.5 liters per day. Forgetfulness (77 percent), lack of time (56 percent) and stress (52 percent) are cited as reasons for not drinking enough water. It is important to replenish fluids on a daily basis as dehydration can have a negative impact on physical and mental performance. Headaches, fatigue and loss of concentration are just three signs of dehydration. In fact, experts believe that conditions such as asthma, allergies, high blood pressure, and type II diabetes are signs of permanent dehydration.

Unfortunately, our bodies cannot store large amounts of water. So drinking large amounts of water once or twice a day will not help. Tea, coffee, alcohol, and other ready-to-drink beverages such as soda are also no alternative to natural mineral water, as they contain substances such as caffeine that draw more water from the body than they supply. The only thing that helps is to drink enough water throughout the day. How much "enough" is depends on many factors, such as age, body size, activity level, and ambient temperature.

Are you one of those people who drinks too little water because of forgetfulness, lack of time, or stress?

Then I have a solution for you.

The following books helped me develop the 60-Day-Water-Challenge. I am sure they can also help you integrate the drinking routine into your daily life. They can also be used if you want to learn more about any of the topics.

You´re not sick, you´re thirsty! Dr. Batmanghelidj
Atomic Habits - James Clear
Triggers - Marshall Goldsmith

YOU´RE NOT SICK, YOU´RE THIRSTY! This is the opinion of Dr. Batmanghelidj. Drinking water is so important that if the body does not get enough water, our bodily functions will be limited. In this book, Dr. Batmanghelidj explains why symptoms of diseases such as asthma, allergies, diabetes to chronic fatigue syndrome should be treated with water, salts and minerals.

The secret to success is the 1% method. In this book, habit expert James Clear shares practical strategies for getting one percent better every day. He draws on insights from biology, psychology, and neuroscience.

This book is about triggers that create certain reactions in us. Goldsmith shows how we can control the triggers in our lives and make meaningful, lasting changes. Through daily introspection combined with active questioning, he aims to measure effort, not results. By taking responsibility for your efforts, you will be able to make improvements.
