The 60 Days Water Challenge
How to incorporate a drinking routine
into your everyday life.
39 percent of all Germans drink too little!
According to a study by the Instituts für Betriebliche Gesundheitsberatung and the Techniker Krankenkasse, 39 percent of Germans fail to drink the recommended amount of 1.5 liters per day. Forgetfulness (77 percent), lack of time (56 percent) and stress (52 percent) are cited as reasons for not drinking enough water. It is important to replenish fluids on a daily basis as dehydration can have a negative impact on physical and mental performance. Headaches, fatigue and loss of concentration are just three signs of dehydration. In fact, experts believe that conditions such as asthma, allergies, high blood pressure, and type II diabetes are signs of permanent dehydration.
Unfortunately, our bodies cannot store large amounts of water. So drinking large amounts of water once or twice a day will not help. Tea, coffee, alcohol, and other ready-to-drink beverages such as soda are also no alternative to natural mineral water, as they contain substances such as caffeine that draw more water from the body than they supply. The only thing that helps is to drink enough water throughout the day. How much "enough" is depends on many factors, such as age, body size, activity level, and ambient temperature.
