What inspired you to become a Water Sommelier?
Being a Hydrogeologist since 1991, working always with natural mineral waters and source waters made me aware of the uniqueness of each one. Understanding the differences between the waters and the different experiences they lead to was always something that amazed me.
Becoming a water sommelier made lots of sense as a natural sequence in my learning.
What is your superpower?
The passion for natural waters.
Can you share a memorable experience you've had as a Water Sommelier?
As a Water Sommelier always that I have the opportunity to share with groups of people the experience of water tasting, discussing their sensations and perceptions with different waters is amazing and never ends to surprise me and to bring new ways of seeing the waters.

Please finish the sentence: Water for me is...
Water for me is one amazing expression of nature that we must respect and value.
What do you believe is the future of the Water Sommelier profession?
Water Sommeliers must be, first of all, in the first line defending the Natural Waters and the terroir from where they emerge.
Secondly we should be a vehicle to make the society aware of the uniqueness of the Natural Waters.
At last, but not less important, I believe we must fight for the recognition of Natural Waters as an Important Gastronomic Element, specifically chosen for any meal and not only being there as a complement.
How do you think valuing water contributes to a more sustainable future?
In Europe, most of us are used to have quality water always and everywhere available at a affordable price. That is not the reality in most of the rest of the world.
We will only be able to continue getting water, if the environment is preserved allowing the water cycle to keep running. I think only the environmental sustainability will allow this.
So if people understand the value of quality water and what is needed to keep it flowing they might consider the need for sustainability.
What else would you like to share with the community?
As I said before, The Water Sommelier Community is very well positioned to make a difference in the understanding and recognition of the Natural Waters.
LET'S DO IT!
