What inspired you to become a Water Sommelière?
It all started as a search for innovation in the Restaurant Menu, and I actually discovered a community that makes sense to me and to my long standing passion for water.
What is your superpower?
Pairing water with food.
Can you share a memorable experience you've had as a Water Sommelière?
My first tasting and food & water pairing session - at the end, people were saying it was an experience they want to enjoy over and over again.
Still or Sparkling?
Sparkling
Low or high TDS?
High TDS
Salty or sweet?
Salty
What is your favorite water and why?
For the moment, it's Perla Moldovei - it has a round mouthfeel, really dense, on the hint of sweet, and it has a nice story.
Please finish the sentence: Water for me is...
fun!
What do you believe is the future of the Water Sommelier profession?
The future for Water Sommelier profession sounds great. We will be involved in restaurant openings and restaurant menu engineering, in health conferences, big events, marketing frames. We will be taken seriously all over the world.
How do you think valuing water contributes to a more sustainable future?
Of course! How can you begin a conversation about sustainable future if you do not address one of the most precious and important natural resources, if you do not understand it, if you do not know how to use it and how to explore it. It all begins with water.
What else would you like to share with the community?
Let's have more meetings to talk about water!
Silvia, thank you for the interview!
Best regards
Timo Bausch
